Default Microsoft Excel: How can I arrange by date which is in the 2nd column?

I have to put together a schedule and know nothing about using excel. I have column A currently with places and column B with dates. I want to switch the formatting so instead of place(column A), I want to arrange by date (which is in column B). Is there any way that this is possible?

Default

Click at the top of Column A to select the whole column.

Control + C to Copy Column A

Click at the top of Column C to select that column (I assume it is empty)

Control + V to Paste into Column C

Now, go back and select A again and delete it.

You have just turned everything around.

Hope this helps!
