I have Microsoft office powerpoint viewer 2003 on my computer. I need to make a powerpoint for school but i dont no how to. Everytime I open it it brings me to a popup that lists my documents and everything. But I need to make a new powerpoint. As you can tell I haven't done this before but I could really use the help.

You cannot create power point slides with a Powerpoint Viewer. You need the Powerpoint application.

You need a Powerpoint not just a viewer. My understanding is that Viewer is meant for viewing Powerpoint project for those who do not have Powerpoint proper but will like to view a prepared powerpoint project. Download a trial version, try your hands on it, and if you like it, go for the full version. Good luck.
