How do i remove the automatic 0 thing on Microsoft Excel?

Ok, when I try to type 0000 or 0001 it auto corrects it or something to 0 or 1. PLEASE HELP ME!!!!

Format, Cells, Numbers, Custom. In the Type, enter 4 zeroes. It will automatically pad the number with zeroes.
