winRar has unzipped the files into a volume, those hard drives icons that u mentioned that it keeps making.

the installer and related files should be inside that hard drive icon. click into it and explore and you should be able to install MSword into your mac. If the contents in the hard drive icon are corrupted or not readable by mac, go download Stuffit Expander for mac, it's free and it's an un-rar program for mac since mac's existence. On a mac, some Rar files uncompress better with Stuffit, some better with winRar.

Zipped and rar files uncompress into a volume and is mounted as a hard drive image on the mac desktop, that's how it works. You've only unzipped it, and have not click on anything to effect the installation process yet. If you keep on unzipping it, it will just create duplicate images of the mounted drive on your mac.

hope this helps.
