Default Microsoft Excel??

I want to write several lines of text in an Excel spreadsheet, but when I press return, the cell below becomes highlighted. How can I write several lines of text in one cell??

Thanks
Basically I need to write it as in the following format:
- point 1
- point 2
- point 3

Whenever I press return though to start on a new line (in the same cell) the cell below becomes highlighted. I want to stay in the same cell though.
Diana A: Brilliant!! Just what I want.

Sorry to be so retarded - I'm curently teaching myself how to use Excel!

Try pressing ALT and return at the same time - that should start a new line within the cell.

Hope this helps!!

If you are looking to have one large cell, you can type everything in that cell first. Say for example you type out a paragraph in cell A1. The next step would be to Wrap Text. This can typically be found (in Microsoft Office 2007) on the Alignment section (third from left).

In older version of Office, you can right click the cell and click "Format Cells." Under Alignment >> Text Control >> Wrap text.

I hope you were looking for this!
