Default Help creating a list in Microsoft Excel?

I want to create a drop-down list in a cell that changes the values of other cells to a predetermined value. Basically, I am attempting to make a comparison sheet that lets me pick an element on a list that allows for a quick comparison of their values in a small space so I don't have to scroll all the way to the other side of the page to verify numbers.

Ex.

If the list on A1 reads mercury, then that would set A2, A3, and A4 to display preset numbers. But if the list reads Helium, then A2, A3, and A4 would display a different set of pre-set numbers.


So...how can I create the function I need?
Well sarangu, that would be because microsoft is notorious for either only putting help topics in on issues that no real person ever has, or just hiding the topic you need really well.
