Is there a way to make a table or query in microsoft access and have an alert

sent to you when a date comes? i made a query of a table. the query has the workers name, first aid expiration date, and cpr expiration date.... when those dates arrive can i be alerted?

I don't know of a way that Access can send an alert without opening the application, unless you want to export the expiration dates to an Outlook appointment (which will give you a reminder). You can create the Outlook appointment automatically when you the expiration dates into the database. I can give you code to do that. If you don't want to go the Outlook route, you could
1.) Have a form that opens when you first open the Access applicaton. This form could have a button that you click that will list the people whose first aid or cpr expiration dates are near expiration and/or have expired. 2.) Or if you would prefer not to have to think about clicking the button, you could have a subform that appears right on the form form that opens which shows this information. If you would like more assistance with any of these options let me know. |
