Oh boy, someone like you wants to rip, burn films on dvd's, however, you don't know what an avi file is, heck, you don't know what mp3 is?...
AVI, mp3, mp4, wma are file types... AVI = Audio Video Interleave (Video) mp3 = MPEG Audio Layer III (Audio) mp4 = MPEG Audio Layer IV (Video) wma = Windows Media Audio (Audio) to rip = to copy As for DVD types, well there are: Capacity of 4.71 GB: DVD-R DVD+R DVD-RW DVD+RW The above are also available as Dual-Layers, meaning they have a capacity of 8.5 GB I think. Other DVD types are HD DVD & Blu-ray discs HD DVD can store 17 GB, while the Blu-rays 25 GB. But I'm sure that's not what you meant... I think you referred to copy protections on DVDs... well there are a lot of types there and all work different, would be too much to write down, so let's skip this part, its illegal anyway... As for what to use to burn movies on dvd's, well... go I'd go for DVD Decrypter if I were you! http://www.pctipp.ch/index.cfm?pid=1411&pk=29787 One more tip... to watch almost all movie formats available I suggest you the KMPlayer http://www.kmplayer.com/forums/index.php |

First, You will need to have a DVD Burning Rom or you won't be able to burn any DVD's at all unless there small and you use a VCD but that's a whole new category. You can try these three sites as I am a novice myself but have had alot of success. Doom9.net, Download.com and Imgburn.com ( a guy at Best Buy told me about these sites ). My DVD Burner came with a free trial version of Nero, which has been nice, I downloaded a program called DVD Shrink 3.2 and it lets me take movies I rented and removes the Macrovision copyright. I hope this answers your question. Some of the programs out there will require additional codes, try searching for AC3, seems to help with allowing to watch avi files on Windows Media Player. You can email me if you need to.
