Default Help Vista keeps installing drivers for HP Photosmart C5280 whenever I turn it on.?

I have a HP desktop computer (m8080a) with windows vista home premium installed, and I just recently got a HP Photosmart C5280 All-in-one printer. It works ok, but whenever I turn the printer off then on again, it has to load the drivers all over again as if they were never installed in the first place? It also does the same thing if I turn on the computer while the printer is off, then turn the printer on. I've tried the drivers from the installation CD and the drivers from the HP site, but the same thing happens with both. Does anyone know of more reliable drivers for this printer or how to fix this issue?

Thanks in advance for any help
Just a note: I don't think Vista is at fault here, I think it is HP as I've heard of people with Xp having similar driver problems with this printer.

Try to go into Device Manager and delete the printer. Then restart, and plug the printer in while your computer is on. Vista should install the drivers automatically. Ignore the disk that came with the printer.

The problem with deleting the drivers and letting Vista do the auto install is that you'll lose a lot of functionality by doing that.
I would delete the drivers, but... I'd also download the newest drivers and software package that's available for your printer. They are on hp.com and were just recently added (01/08) -- here's the link:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=mp-51074-3&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=3204464&os=2093&lang= en

The newest drivers/software may address that particular issue and could resolve the problem just by having upgraded to the new software...

Good Luck!
