Default ERROR messages for Windows Vista?

Eveytime i try to upgrade my laptop to windows vista a error comes up saying

: windows cannot install required files. the file may be corrupt or missing.make sure all files required for insallation are available, and restart the instalation. error code 0x80070017
How Can I Fix It

Dont bother with Vista! It has far too many problems... incompatability for one with lots of devices and web work - stick with XP it does all you really NEED!

It's not uncommon for Vista to throw error messages at you I'm afraid.....

dont bother with vista stick with XP until vista SP2 is out
