sims 2? So i found my old Sims 2 game (DVD version). ran it, installed it, and when i go to play it, it said there were some compatibiity problems. After a while, i was able to run it, but it disabled my sound driver. When i enabled my sound driver and tried to run The Sims 2, it displayed a message that said" The application has crashed. The Application will now close" or something like that. I'm running Vista Home basic, by the way.

I tried installing the patch, but it won't prompt me to download it in the first place. (I think the EA site may be down for a bit)

So basically, i can play the sims, but i have to disable teh sound first. I know there are tons of questions on Yahoo about this, but none that relate to the game shutting out your sound. So can Any1 help? thnx in advance
