...scan at every single boot!? I have an HP laptop. running vista home premium, last week I had to for the first time do a scan to "check disk for consistency", which doesn't take very long and I do have the option of aborting scan. But it happens at every boot! I was unable to do a defrag or to run windows vista backup, because when i do those, it tells me I have a disk error and that i need to run a disk scan, which never ever finds a problem!!! I'm at wits end and becoming very frustrated! I have already formatted the hard drive but the problem persists. HELP!!
