Vista is still in BETA version. You knew this when you installed it. You knew some things wouldn't work. Beta versions are ONLY for people who WANT to find bugs and fixes and give input to Microsoft before the final release. If you only wanted a free OS then, hey you got one! You'll have to find out what sound card you have and go to the sound card's website to see if they've released an updated driver for your sound card to be compatable with Vista. Chances are you'll just have to wait a few more months for the final release to get your sound back. Next time you download something, make sure you know what it is you're downloading. You obviously weren't prepared for a beta version. And you had to run the compatiablitity tool first that would've told you about a sound issue befoe you downloaded the beta. But you downloaded anyway, so why are you asking US to help you with BETA version. If you're not qualified to test it, then don't. but let me quit being a butthole here. Check the soundcards website first. They very well could have a new driver patch ready for you. If not, you can try different versions of current drivers (obviously not the XP driver) and one may work. Go to drivers.com and see if anything is available. You really should know all this if you're going to be a beta tester. If not, then just wait next time for the final release to come out, after all has been tested and fixed. Good Luck.. :-)
