Default my dell computer- Windows Vista- PLease! HELP!?

i listen to music

when i work out
and when i unplug my llap top and take it into the work out room, i turn up my music...

throughout the song it begins to skip occasionally, like for 2 seconds, then continues playing, maybe another song or two. until it randomly stops in the middle of a song.

i have windows vista. and the only way i can get my comp to keep going is if i hold the power button for 5 seconds, and restart the whole dealio

Change your media player to VLC media player, it's free and it works much better with the CPU, uses less power so you can listen to your music fine.
I would say it's because you're overloading your CPU and causing it to shut down it's processes, that being one of them.

So I'd suggest using a better media player like I mentioned.

Try reinstalling the media player, or updating it. Or perhaps your system doesn't have enough ram to support what you're doing. ha. Try shutting down some background programs if you can. If you're not hooked up to the internet, go ahead and shut down your antivirus or firewall. No need for it when you know your PC is clean and not in harm of catching anything offline.

How would he overload a modern CPU with a media player simply playing a song? And shutting down processes automatically like that??? Man I think you need to drop that class cause it aint teaching you much. Or you know, actually take the class before you claim you're taking it. Sounds like a crazy idea but it might work a little better for you.
