Well, I think a major clue to what might be going wrong is in the error statement. It says it is having an issue with a shared component.

Have you ever had Photoshop installed on this computer before? If so, did you remove it before attempting to install this instance of Photoshop?

Sometimes when we remove a application, for example, to update to a newer version, items from the "removed" application are left behind. Shared components are the most difficult to fully remove. The reason for this is because if any of the components files are open at the time the removal attempt occurs, the component will be bypassed during the removal. Then, when you attempt to reinstall, it causes an issue such as this.

If you have tried a couple of times to install the program files and settings which were successfully installed are still in existence on the system, even though the full application failed the installation. For example, if it hangs at 80% installation, then that 80% exists the next time you attempt to install.

Now, sometimes those existing files will be overwritten during the next installation attempt. However, this is not always the case, and those cases cause issues.

I reccomend you go back to the website support area and look for a installation cleanup tool. Most medium to large applications have tools to aid in the case of a failed removal/installation process. This tool needs to be downloaded and ran before attempting to install the application again. Even if this is not the main issue, the fact remains that you will need to clean up from the failed installation.

Now, I believe Photoshop has a User Forum where users can go to post questions and receive assistance from other users who have a lot of experience. You would need to register and create a User Name and corresponding password in order to actually post questions and answer responses. You may need to create a log to upload to an expert in Photoshop to review in order to help you out of your jam. I am not saying you have to post a log, just that you might need to do so.

This is about all the assistance I can offer at this time. To recap, look for any files left on your system, such as a shared folder holding shared files for Photoshop, and delete them if at all possible. You may need to exit the account which shares the files, and/or the system may have files open. Open files are often not capable of being moved. In order to delete an item, you may need to drag it out of the folder it is currently residing to the desktop. Once it is on the desktop you should then be able to delete it. This bypasses any permissions once it is moved.

Again, your best bet is to logon to a Photoshop User Forum and ask your question there if you are unable to locate a Photoshop installation cleanup tool. Even Microsoft has a cleanup tool for removing applications. Most major applications do. So, just perform a strong search of the Photoshop support website and you should locate it, if not, ask another Photoshop user.

Good luck and I hope your issue is solved soon. Have a nice day.
