Default Help with errors: Windows Vista and Office 2000!!?

I have a laptop with Vista installed on it. It only came with MS works. I have Office 2000, so I installed it on Vista. For the longest time, I had NO problems whatsoever. Now, when I try to open ANY application on Office 2k, I get an installation wizard window, and then windows asks me for the cd and product key,. When I click cancel, it closes the application. The interesting thing is, is that when you get the normal application popup (with the logo for the application), it says Worrd 2003 (or excel '03, or ppt 03, depending on the application). I have NEVER had a version of this, so why is it popping up? If I open up an actual word document, instead of just word, i can get the document to open but it still tries to open installation wizard. This doesn't work when I try to do it with powerpoint or excel. What is going on here? I cant upgrade to Office 2007, because it is incompatable with my college's computers! Help!
