Default I own a HP dv1000 pavilion notebook, I only just installed windows vista

premium but I have problems....? The new feature of vista home premium 'windows aero' does not seem to work, I guess my graphics card is not good enough, is there a way I can upgrade my graphics card? And also, the windows DVD maker doesnt work, it says my video card does not support this application, whereas I do have a dvd burner and Sonic worked fine before I installed vista. Is there a way I can upgrade this video card also? And they said it must support directX 9... what is that? if i upgrade my video card, will it support direct x9?

all graphics card these days support Direct X 9. they are now introducing Direct X 10 compatible cards. I am telling you, nobody likes Vista. It always has problems. Instead of unnecessarily upgrading, get Windows XP. OK, u won't have Aero interface, so what? You have a lot better overall satisfaction.
