Your problem description doesn't give enough information. It is missing the two most important pieces of information:

1) What is the exact name of this program?
2) What happens when you try to install it?

Imagine if you called up a mechanic and said "for some reason my Ford doesn't run". Don't you think he'd want to know what model and year your car is and what exactly is wrong with it?

Some programs simply don't work on Windows Vista, like Norton PartitionMagic. All you can try doing is going into the properties and running it in a compatibility mode.

That or try running as an administrator, which fixes most problems on Vista >.>

The most practical solution is to get a windows XP CD, wipe vista, and actually ENJOY YOUR COMPUTER!!! =D
