can my computer run vista without any speed problems?

i dont like vista because as of right now its slower than XP.
so with this computer, can i run vista fast enough so i can enjoy it?

3.0ghz dual core
3gb of ram
512mb graphics card
320gb sata hard drive (3 gb/s)
sata optical drive.
