Default Network problems with vista laptop.?

I recently purchased a Dlink WBR-1310 router and a Windows Vista Laptop. After manually setting up the router and everything my desktop can connect wirelessly to the router but my Windows Vista laptop cannot connect even though it says its connected to the network with excellent strength I still can't get internet.
Can you explain more on how to do this. Sorry but I am new to using routers and stuff.

Default

basically,
your laptop needs to be setup for secure networking using the network and sharing centre, and enable all settings.
then you need to accept outgoing connections on you laptop using windows firewall.
this should then allocate your network and may ask you for a password.
