Hi, my son recently got a laptop for x-mas. The operating system on it is Windows Vista. I am very computer illiterate, but I need to know something, ok, I have set it up w/myself as the administrator, and him as a seperate user. Ok, when I log into my user account, it automatically pops up my Instant Messaging profile, but also does the same thing when he logs into his user account. What I am trying to do is set it up so that when he logs in to his acct, his IM automatically signs in, and when I log into my acct, my IM automatically signs in. Can you help? Sorry, but as I said, I am very illiterate when it comes to a computer, and I dont want to mess this new computer up.

The IM program should have a setting to auto-login. Poke around the options and see if you see any options that say something like "Log in when program starts".
