It may not find it because it has kept it off. I use Windows Defender along with my anti virus and have never found anything except harmless cookies. Many things have been blocked. I used to scan with other programs too be sure but nothing ever found so my confidence has grown.
But a lot might have to do with safe practices too. I don't tempt fate. The main thing with any security is too keep it updated. |

At least Defender runs in the background - SpyBot and Adware you have to run to find anything. I use both Defender and Spybot along with the anti-rootkit program from AVG and Rogue remover - nothing is ever found, which is what I want. All this is running behind a firewall and on a router.
I've cleaned viruses off friends' and families' computers too many times because they're too cheap to buy a little protection - or even try to use the free ones - so I may go a little overboard, but to date, have had no problems at all. |
