No its impossible. If by 'vista number' you mean product key then the worst they can do is use it on their machine and activate with microsoft, rendering both computers illegal in the eyes of microsoft. Their is a very small possibility of this happening though. If you mean the computer model then their is an even smaller chance

just how exactly did they get your key? i'm pretty sure they're lying. they did tell you exactly the whole key combo? they would also need your IP address so don't worry.

Just to be safe, why don't you turn-off Windows Remote Assistance?

You can turn off Remote Assistance in Windows Vista using the steps listed below.

1.Click Start, and select Control Panel.

2.Within the Control Panel, System and Maintenance.
Click System.

3. From the list of tasks, click Remote Settings.
Under Remote Assistance, remove the check beside the option to Allow Remote Assistance connections to this computer.

4.Click OK.
