Default windows vista administrator hacking password with cmd prompt access denied!?

so im trying to hack my dads password to his administrator account on his vista. he made a bet with me that i couldnt crack it. so i go on the guest account, and open up the cmd prompt. Only, nothing works because the access is denied. I put net user dad * and it says access denied, so i cant change the password. I put net localgroup administrators Guest /add, and thats denied. I try opening cmd prompt as administrator and i need to put in a password for that. I look up this on youtube and everything, but nobody seems to have run into this problem, even though its probably common. is there another way i can get the password or change it, even though i dont have administrator privaleges? please help thanks

If it were that easy to hack into a password-protected account, Microsoft would be out of business by now.
