One day the DVD+-RW Drive stopped working. A week later, i went to boot it and i got the error message

it would just sit there and nothing would happen. When i try to boot it, it would stay at the Windows opening screen, it did not allow me to get into safe mode or bios settings.

The computer sat there for almost a month and then today i tried to reboot it and the same thing happened. Then i pulled out the IDE and power cables going into the DVD drive and put them back in. I tried to reboot and this time it got farther and told me new hardware has been detected press enter to start windows with the last known working settings. So I hit enter and the computer booted up, everything worked fine.
