install windows player 11 on my comp? i have windows media player 10 and want to upgrade to windows 11 but i am asked to update rollup 2 for windows media center edition 2005. i have searched up and down the internet but in vain. please somebody help me.

did you do a windows update? or how about uninstalling ten then instllalling 11, dotn forget to empty recycle bin a nd do a restart.

download the windows media player 11 executable file

wmp11-windowsxp-x86-enu.exe

also download winrar or winzip( install )

now right click on wmp11-windowsxp-x86-enu (.exe file) and click on extract to wmp11-windowsxp-x86-enu (folder)

after extracting to the folder open the folder (wmp11-windowsxp-x86-enu)
open the folder and delete two files
1.LegitLibM.dll
2.KB925749

after deleting the above files

double click on "wmfdist11" and install

after this

double clikc on "wmp11" and install

Enjoy you have your WMP 11 ready now. restart PC and enjoy

no need to rollup
