I got a samsung i760 smartphone and so far it has been great. Verizon's data plan however is way expensive. I just found out today that you have to pay extra for texting on top of the data plan! And Instant messaging doesn't come with the phone.After hours of searching the web for a free IM app for windows mobile 6.0 , I found OctroTalk which is good.



I heard great things about verizon which is why I agreed to switch and reception and quality is great but it's mad expensive and everything is limited compared to Sprint, At&t and t-mobile (who I switched from because of reception).

I just think this is bull***. It's bad enough to pay for IM and text when most plans have it unlimited with the data plan.

On top of that you have to pay for IM apps!!

Whats the best way to IM under verizon for smart phones or windows mobile?
Whats the best plan that includes text and IM on top of internet and e-mail?
I'm new to the smartphone arena and i'm frustrated because things I thought were part of the already expensive data plan you have to pay extra for. I just need to make sure I'm getting the best bang for the buck and I need outside input.
