by sending steps briefly.? i have connected two home pc with win 2000 pro and win xp.i did shared all the drives in both the systems,only i can view the files of xp from 2000,i cant view the files of win 2000 from win xp. my network places->microsoft n/w->workgroup...when i tried to open the workgroup it asks for user id and password.

the 2000 pc has a password.
or, if you can not view the files, do what i do, restart both systems at the same time.
