Default Questions on Windows 2000 Error.?

Recently, my computer has been restarting itself for a few days. Today, it restarted and when I turned it back on, this message came up:

"Windows 2000 could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:

\WINNT\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEMced
Startup options for Windows 2000, press F8.

You can attempt to repair this file by starting Windows 2000 setup using the original setup floppy disk or CD-ROM.
Select 'r' at the first screen to start repair."

What can I do to help solve this issue with my computer? Do I need the Windows 2000 setup disk or is there another way to fix this error? Would I have to take my computer into a computer shop? What can I do to not prevent this in the future?

Dig around a bit and you should find out the problem with your computer. That along with the solution to hopefully fix all the issues.

there must have been a virus that deleted that file. you have to get the windows 2000 setup disk (buy it or get it done from a store) and reinstall windows. you can try downloading a ani-virusprogram to prevent this. try downloading AVG. its free and easy to use!
