Unfortunately your machine is not up to the task of running Vista. However you could install an easy to use Linux distro. which generally demand less in the way of system resources, you do not indicate how much RAM so I will work on the assumption of 512mb which was the norm for a 750mhz P3.
If this is the case than a whole host of Linux distros. will operate with specs. with ease. distros. worth considering would be MEPIS Linux 7.0 http://www.mepis.org/ Mandriva 2008.1 Spring http://www.mandriva.com/ Xubuntu 8.04.1 http://www.xubuntu.org/ All of these distros. are easy to install and easy to use and you would experience an improvement in performance as well. If its slow on 2000 then it will be unbearable with vista.
You need at least a gig of ram for vista although 512 is minimum. You can go to microsoft.com and go to vista upgrade advisor and it will tell u if its going to work or not. ?Good Luck! If you need any help, feel free to email me via my profile page - Eric |

I seriously doubt Vista will run on that old of a machine. Vista is incompatible with older software and hardware.
MS has a site to check if you can use it. try there. |

Sorry dude, but it will not work out. The processor you have is only 0.75 GHz and that is not enough to run any version of Vista. I hear how a lot of people complain that their computer is sluggish after an upgrade, even though they have a fast and great computer. The graphics aren't good enough to even run Winodws Aero. Everything will just run slower and will say "Not Responding" on the top of every window if you try to rush it. So just stay with what you have and keep Windows 2000. But if you want, you can try to see if it will work by using the Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor 1.0 from this link.
