im planning on upgrading but i have a lot of pc games and i dont want to if it will not let me play these games because they are to old.

It really depends on the game, but most games will work. My advice is look online for other peoples experience with specific games and Vista. Honestly though, if you stick with XP, you wont be missing out on much with Vista.
