I have xp media net windows, cant defrag tells me to chkdsk, but i dont have...

...it, what do i do? i never had this problem before, tried to defrag and tells me to do a chkdsk first, also my yahoo messenger keeps messin up on me, keep losin my voice chat and have to redo my messenger, what can be my problem there?
