I have just recently reformatted an old laptop with windows 98 and on startup it says i'm missing the following files:
vnetsetup.vxd
vredir.vxd
dfs.vxd
and
msnp32.dll
it's annoying and i need help. I know a thing or 2 about computers, i'm not completely clueless but i can't find any help on this topic. thanks

just means your install cd has kicked the bucket: its corrupt.
