I want to play Extreme-G 2 on my XP system, but the game was created for Windows 95. I've tried the compatibility change, but it didn't help. When I try to run the game, it goes to a black screen with the egg-timer, but then returns back to the main screen. I've tried changing the color depth and res, but no use! I have run other games successfully on XP from the same time. Yes, my computer has the correct specifications. Is there any way I can run the game without actually play the game without having to buy/download the whole Windows 95/98 OS? Or some Windows 95 emulator?
Thanks!! ![]() I already tried to change the compatibility thingie to Win 95 without any result! |

Try right clicking the icon and going to properties and telling it which system to run on it's similar to a compatibility change but i find works better especially for Vista which is what I have at home.

Install the version of DirectX )usually DX5 or DX6) that came with it. It will not damage your system; XP can cope with it just fine. In a perfect world, DX9 would provide perfect compatibility with older games, but this does not always happen.
There are virtual machines through which you can run Windows 95, but they lack even the hardware acceleration found on a good graphics card from the 95 era. |
