You have a Boot Sector error, it is a common problem. As was said in earlier answers, try to boot to Safe Mode, if that does not work, you will need to write a new Boot Sector, something has corrupted your hard drive which is not allowing your computer to boot. You will need the original Windows disk in order to do this. I am hoping that you have this.
Open your disk hardware drive and insert your Windows disk..... Shut down your computer by holding down the power button for a few seconds. Turn your computer back on,and it should boot to the disk. If it does not, you will have to enter your BIOS Setup and change the boot order so that it boots to your disk drive first. Once the disk boots, you will see a bunch of files start to install...When it gets to the screen when it asks whether you want to install Windows or Repair, you want to hit "R" for repair. This will then take you to a screen that resembles a DOS screen... Type in fixboot C: This will then re-write your boot files to a new sector of your hard drive. You may have to turn your computer off and then turn it back on in order for this to work. I have actually had to do this two or three times in order for it to work. I hope this helps ya', but this is a very familiar problem with Windows XP. Like I said, you will need the original XP install or Setup disk in order to do this. Hope this helps!!!!!! Try to start using 'safe mode' .... Try several times if save mode repeatly fail to start ....
If you had succeeded to enter save mode , you quickly run a 'system restore' to an earlier time where the problem haven exist ...... If it is a virus , run a system restore will sure eliminate the virus ...... If the safe mode fail to initialise after you had tried several times , you may need to use your Windows CD to repair or reformat your system ..... Using Widows repair console to repair your windows or reformat your pc throughly .....However , this caused you to lost all the data .... |
