I haven't converted from Win 98 because I have an old computer and I'm unemployed. My present virus protection software has explred and now most systems I find use Win 2000 and up. Can I still purchase a current reliable software that will work with Win 98? Thank you.

AVG by grisoft is a good free method.

Go to oldapps.com, they have older versions of anti-virus programs, and to the other answerer its none of your business wether he's working or not, Oh and good luck.

Avast still works on Win98, and it's free.

If you can't find any free antivirus apps that still support Windows 98, looking at some variety of Linux would probably be a good idea. There are distros out there that are made to run on older and less powerful hardware.
