i have an old compaq 1272 with win98 on it, i recently tried to install W2K but liek everyone else i got stuck at the blue text screen where it would freeze on "setup is starting windows" so i had to throw win98 back on it but some of the drivers couldnt be installed and didnt feel like messing with it because i cant find any drivers for my laptop, so i need to find an os similar to win98 because i have 100 megs or ram and 4gigs of hd! but i want to be able to connect to the internet.

p.s. ive already tried ubuntu and its still too big

you need too look up D.S.L (damn small linux) it can run with less than 32mb ram and i believe the whole thing is 50 mb and can be run for a cd if you don't want to install it. so go to www.distrowatch.com they have links there to hundreds of linux distros. there are other options there and you can read about minimum system requirements for them befor you even take the time to download let alone install them.
