every time i download something, for example, world of warcraft demo, from wow.com.... i hit save, and suddenly the download thing dissapears. i have also hit run, but when its done, its dissapears, and the box that asks you if you want it to close is not checked. When i try to look up the name its not there. this is a new dell, that i bought 3 days ago. it's a inspiron, and its running vista im pretty sure. i hve checked my documents, nothing is there. i can install things off of disks, but it won't let me download

wow, I don't know. I would contact Dell on this one. I have an Inspirion too and I use explorer(not firefox), but haven't run into anything like this. Somebody might have screwed up when They programed your computer and forgot a line of code or something, or mabey the website isn't compatable.

The only reason I mentioned missing code is because I recently bought a prepaid phone and when I went to activate it, a message came up asking for specific codes to be entered - it had never been finished progaming. I had to send it back to the company and have them fix it.
