i have windows 98 SE and whenever i start it it says that there was an error...

...while initializing device VKD.? its just a hobbie but i wud like to know how to fix that......and also does anyone know what in the computer itself determines whether its windows 98 or XP or Vista???????

the hard drive reads the OS (Operating System) off of it and boots it from the hard drive after it has been installed from the disc if I where you i'd replace that PC with a new one ur living in the stone age
