Default My driver side window won't roll up or down! Please help me diagnose the problem!?

I drive a 97 GMC Jimmy/ Blazer/ Bravada and for the past few weeks my driver side window will sporatically respond when I hit the switch to roll it up or down. Every now and then it will work for a few days then stop working a few more. My window is stuck down right now and we're about to have a hurricane come through! I don't know if it is being made work by being jarred on the road or the door slammed or what. I have beat on the panel to see if it responded but nothing happens. All 3 other windows work fine. The window never showed any sign of weakness and doesn't try to roll up when I pull on the window a bit, so I'm not sure that its the motor. Its really strange that it works every now and again... does such a thing sound familiar to anyone?
