Default Is windows xp pro 64 bit a good OS?

Will software that suppose to run on xp/an vista run on xp pro 64 bit? Also would I have trouble finding drivers for it for my new build? Case is Cooler Master CM Stacker 830 ATX Full-Tower Aluminum Case with Vented Side and 1000-Watt Power Supply
Mobo is Asus M3A32-MVP Deluxe WiFi-AP Motherboard
CPU is AMD Phenom X4 9850 Quad Core Processor Black Edition
Video Card is 2 Sapphire Radeon HD 3870 Video Card - 512MB GDDR4, PCI Express 2.0, CrossFireX Ready, (Dual Link) Dual DVI, HDTV, Full 1080p in crossfire.
Hard Drive is Western Digital VelociRaptor 300GB Hard Drive - 10K, 16MB, SATA
Memory is Dual Channel XMS2 8Gigs PC8500 DDR2 1066MHz Memory
A DVD Burner

the video card and motherboard install disks will work with xp, XP is the best OS and the 64 bit verison will let you run up to 4 gigs of ram
