I wouldn't go that way. Lots of stuff doesn't work on XP pro 64-bit, especially security.

Hi, I have a new computer that support 64 bit OS. However, I don't know if it will allow me to use all the 32 bit programs and games or not?

There are some valid reasons to move to 64-bit - You get access to more than 3.5G of RAM and better security.

The problem with 64-bit OS systems is that some program authors haven't written 64-bit compatible versions and some hardware manufacturers haven't written 64-bit drivers.

You only have one solution, and that's to check every program's and peripheral's websites to see if they support 64-bit. Sorry, no short cuts.

i just bought a computer with 64 bit... but that is because a 4gb either only/ works best on 64 bit. Not all games and programs are going to work. When i talked to the geek squad, he told me most games will. But,... you need to download certain updates/ drivers for 64 bit. If i were you i'd stick with the 32 bit. That way you can save yourself from downloading more stuff to the computer.

Thats fine if you want too. It should allow you to use your old programs as well but why do you want to install professional 64bit. All it allows you to do is use more than 4 gigs of ram and run a few expensive progams. Unless you really need it to run other programs or utlize ram, i would suggest against it because it's just a hassle installing a new os Because you have to start over with progams and drivers and etc.
