Default Windows XP help?

My sister has put herself in charge of the administrator account. As a result I am unable to download what I want because her account keeps popping up and asking for her password which I don't know. How can I change things so that she is no longer administrator.

Start your computer in safe mode. (Keep on pressing F8 while system boot, select safe mode from the startup options)

Create a administrator account in XP with your desired name and password.

Now restart the machine in normal mode.

Log in with your new id and password. and now you can open any programs and also you can set rights of your sisters login id as guest and not the adminitrator in USER ACCOUNTS ( edit user account option).

hope i helped.

All the best

She's the only one that can change it!

Yes, she is the only one. I assume that she has also, in being the admin, disabled the ability for others to change their user/admin status, and creating new accounts. Just talk to her about the downloading.

Sorry... if the computer is your sisters... I assume it is... She has that right and has done this just for the reason you have asked.
