Hi, I currently am running a non-genuine copy of Windows XP that my "computer guy" installed on my home computer a while back. I am now getting the non-genuine messages and can not update etc. I believe I do have my disc from Windows 98 2nd Ed. My question to everyone is this: If I reinstall Windows 98; will my internal hard disc drives be erased? Someone told me it would do just that. Is there any truth to this? My plan was to put 98 back on and buy the XP upgrade and put it on over the 98 version.
