I have a 320GB FreeAgent Desktop external HD, from seagate. Model ST303204FDA1E1-RK
My problem is this: I have all my files within this external and for some reason it just stopped reading! I looked up as much info as I can on ways of either fixing this or getting my files out but honestly I don't even know if my files are still in there.. When I go into disk management, my external is in there, but there is no designated letter for it. When I assigned a letter for the drive it asked to format the drive, but I really need my stuff out of there before I re-format.. is there anything I can do?
When I went to seagate they were offering me a program to take a files out of the drive but they charge me $130!! and I don't want to pay that. Why should anyone be subject to pay that when it is their product that failed.. this drive is nearly 3-4 months old too..
