Default Can I get some Xbox 360 and Windows XP networking help?

Can somebody tell me what I'm doing wrong...

I have:
Windows XP, SP2
A Belkin Wireless N-Router
Xbox 360
Wireless USB internet connector thingy for 360
Windows Media Player

aight...now, what the hell am i supposed to do to get this to work? I can get online with the 360 with no problems, but i cant connect to the computer. When i search for media on the 360 it says no computers found. my question, i guess, is how do i get the 360 and the computer to connect to one another? whenever i go to WMP and try to share, i click on OK and nothing happens. no sharing. i can hit "share my media" 100 times and nothing happens. i even did the Windows Connect Now procedure....maybe its just time for a upgrade....
To Ian: Did u not read my statement about not even being able to get that far from the sharing menu?

open windows media player pick a tab and click the drop down menu and select more options then click the library tab and click the button to configure sharing. go through all that and you will need to turn your 360 on and allow for that device. its kind of a pain the first time doing it. then when you on your 360 and you go to music or whatever you need to make sure you hit the button to change devices and it should find it.
