I went into safe mode, and when I restarted my computer it had somehow changed the style into windows 98! I hadn't altered anything in safe mode, and I'm wondering why this happened. my task bar on the bottom and all windows look like theyre from windows 98, but my programs run fine, I just want to know if there's a way to change it back to normal.
it also affects the start menu, and ive tried going to my control panel, and changing the start panel back to normal, but it just stays the same, grey, windows 98.

Go to your desktop and on a random empty spot right click and go to properties go to appearance and there should be a scroll bar on the left side that will say what style you want your desktop to look like. Just choose "Windows XP style" You probably just have it set to "Classic style".
