Help needed after installing windows xp on a vista computer no sound?

Ok i brought a new fujitsu simens computer amilo LI 2727 and i installed xp onto it i now have a problem i have no sound and i have tryed installing the sound drives and i still have no sound please can someone help me oh yea and my sound card is a realtek hd audio that is all the iformation i can get on the name of the sound card please can someone help me
im not an idiot, i aint that stupid to install windows xp over vista i have a dual boot (both) o the same laptop so ha your all calling me idots hahaha dont make me laugh before you say something look into it first |

are you running xp sp3? if so, microsoft neglected to include support for HD audio native to the service pack. go, m$.
there's a hotfix that you install before installing your sound drivers (in other words, uninstall and restart your computer before installing these drivers) that you can get from http://www.ditii.com/2008/01/04/windows-xp-sp3-rc-hd-audio-fix/ - and they explain what's going on as well. hope that fixes your issue. don't forget to use a search engine next time - this was the third link when i searched for 'sp3 hd audio'. |
