this wipe out all my files? the error appears everytime i try to install softwares for my webcam (brandnew) and my scanner (it seems like all my imaging devices)..please help.

Yes i think it would. You can save all your files to an external harddrive, or disc then that wouldn't be a problem. Good luck resolving this

yes you can reinstall your windows xp without wipe out all of
your files, just run a repair, you have two repairs donot run
repair from console, run the next repair. that will eliminate the
errors
