I turned on my mom computer that hasn't been used in 1.5 years. When I turn it on the "activate windows" screen keep coming up. I tried to activate by phone but it keep telling me error.
My mom hardly used that computer. But now i need to get it up and running.
Can someone please help me with what to do. I need to get it working by Monday.

try activating it via internet instead. Was it a legal copy of XP? You will not be able to log in Ever until it is activated. If you have a copy of the XP CD, you can reinstall it and activate it as well once you are online. Usually when you call in, there is no problems, just a long string of numbers that have to be entered. Which stinks. Good luck!

on the side of the computer there should be a sticker with a 15 digit code. maybe its not 15, but its long, try typing that in to validate it. unless you have a pirated copy of windows. =(
